A new build 1,500m2 12 classroom teaching block along with internal refurbishment works at the existing Waterbeach Community Primary School in Cambridgeshire to provide much needed classroom space. Due to the new build extension the existing utilities required upgrading to accommodate the additional loads and new utility supplies are being provided accordingly. Following thermal modelling natural ventilation terminals are being provided to ensure compliance with the CCC Grey Guide design criteria. A ‘Learning street’ is to be provided at each floor level open to roof level, cross flow natural ventilation is achieved via openable roof lights in the ‘Learning street’. Project due for handover in December 2019.
